Kruger Park, Knysna and Cape Town – a perfect combination for a safari experience and then the beauty of the Garden Route and of course South Africa’s very own mother city – Cape Town.
On arrival at Johannesburg International Airport you will collect your rental car and start your journey to Nelspruit in Mpumalanga. After approximately 3.5 hours you will have arrived in Nelspruit and you will stay your first night at Shandon Lodge in Nelspruit. You will probably have an early dinner in-house since you will have an early start the next morning. You will receive a breakfast box from the hotel and after an hours’ drive you will have arrived at the Malelane Gate. This will be the start of your safari adventure. Remember that you are going to drive your own vehicle among the wild animals. Do not leave your vehicle at any point except when you are in one of the camps, because you might encounter wild and dangerous animals. Show respect for the animals and keep your distance.
You can choose to stay in one of the main camps and use that as a base, or you can move to a new camp every night. To see the animals you need to be patient, take your time and with a little bit of luck your dream wild life sighting might come true. Kruger National Park is known for having plenty of animals and they are often seen along the tar roads. At every camp you can choose to book a game drive if you would like to take a break from driving.
After spending three nights in the Kruger Park it is time to exit and head back to the airport in Johannesburg. A domestic flight to George will take approximately two hours. Collect your rental car and approximately an hours’ drive will take you to Head over Hills Luxury Retreat in Knysna. Now you can forget about early mornings, you can sleep in and wake up to the sound of the waves that are crashing 200 metres below your window. You can have a relaxing massage, enjoy a good meal and plenty of quality wine. Relax in the moment and reflect over the amazing experience you have just had with animals over the last couple of days.
After four nights in Knysna you will have a five hour drive to Cape Town and your last four nights will be spent at Mannabay Luxury Guest House.
